DAY TWO: The John Johnson Farm

We traveled down the road about an hour to the Historic John Johnson Farm in HIRAM, OHIO.  This is where the prophet and his family lived for a time. This is a church history site operated by our church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  To learn more about our church and our beliefs, click HERE.
This is the door that the prophet was dragged out of in the middle of the night and tarred and feathered by the mob.  And the next day he was standing on these VERY steps preaching the Word of God.

Our senior missionary showed us the original colors and designs from the house on the insides of the cabinets.  They used these to recreate the home.  Sister Elsa Johnson was a colorful, artistic woman.  I love that about her!

 Look at the door color!!
This is the room where Joseph Smith with the help of Sidney Rigdon translated the Bible.  They also received section 76 of the Doctrine and Covenants here.
